Cancer Patients Rights (Sign Language and Braille) Event

Organized by Ibsar in partnership with the Deaf Women's Club in Jeddah in collaboration with Sheikh Mohammed Hussien Al-Amoudi Center of Excellence in Breast Cancer and Health Empowerment and Health Rights at the King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah particularly with the blind & deaf persons; hearing and sight on Monday October 17, 2016 in solidarity with the breast cancer awareness month.

The aim of this activity is to promote the health rights of this category marginalized groups, where Prof. Faiza Natto an expert of the language and the deputy chairman of the Deaf Women’s Club (as the support of the Clapper participatory development and productive families, and aims to raise awareness of this category on health rights through lectures and workshop).

In the same context, Prof. Samia Al-Amoudi, Head of Health Empowerment & Health Rights Unit said that (we have a cooperation agreement with the deaf club since 2010 during which we have worked on establishing the sessions of male and female students to teach them the language, also we did in this month is to allocate certain days for them for mammogram screening which is free of charge in the Center).

During the forum the presentation of  Dr.Atlal abu sand of cancer symptoms and Dr. Susan Kafi to provide the mechanisms for early examination and then Prof. Samia Al-Amoudi spoke about the health rights and the first of spreading awareness in sign language and the language of Braille.

While Dr. Aisha Natto added that (these meetings are in the heart of social responsibility and to contribute to the promotion of human rights culture) and the book of Prof. Samia Al-Amoudi will be distributed in which Prof. Samia speaks about the health rights in sign language and the language of Braille.
