Dr. Samia Al-Amoudi Launches a Campaign on Medical Authorization and Informed Consent of Patients
 

 

Inaugurated by Dr. Samia Al-Amoudi, active in the field of Women’s Health Empowerment on Monday morning 6th May 2013 a campaign prepared by students from the College of Medicine of the authorization and approval for informed consent procedure and the impact on the safety of the patients.


 
Where Dr Samia gave a lecture on the "authorization" on medical doctors & surgeons in Surgery Department held at the Main Auditorium in King Abdulaziz University Hospital, Jeddah. She said in her lecture that they did not give themselves the right of women in medical authorization, but had told her rights that the resolutions of the Council of Senior Clerics and the system of the Ministry of Health that it is the right of women to take wise decision by special medical treatment and medical interventions and surgery on their own, and their guardian is not entitled to take decisions on their behalf, but their consent is.

 
After the end of the lecture 2 students from the organizers of the campaign gave a briefing on the types of medical clearance, in addition to the historical overview. Followed by distribution of a series of publication of the center to the attendees.
The campaign was prepared and organize by Group 8A, 6th Year Students from the Faculty of Medicine on the chapter for patient safety. The campaign will continue until the end of this week.
