7) Research Methodology Workshop for the Center Volunteers h:

As a sign of appreciation to the volunteers during the Women’s Cancer Conference held on 3^rd -5^th May 2011, SMHA-CEBC CEO & SMHA-SCBC Chairwoman Dr. Samia Al-Amoudi announced on 18^th May 2011 that the Center & Chair will provide two (2) workshops for the volunteers; first is the Research Methodology Workshop and second will be the Sign Language Course for Healthcare Providers.

The Research Methodology Workshop was conducted by Dr. Bassem Salama El-Deek, Associate Professor in Community Medicine on the following dates:

22 May 2011 Topic: Introduction to Research

29 May 2011 Topic: Variables in Research & Screening of Disease and Receiver Operating Curve

1 June 2011 Topic: Types of Research Designs

5 June 2011 Topic: Case-Control Design

8 June 2011 Topic: Research Methods

12 June 2011 Topic: Research Methods Continuation and Sampling

A total of 19 volunteers (male & female) attended the workshop and the booklets Breast Cancer Research Workshop Material were distributed on 18^th June 2011.

The volunteers thanked the Center & Chair thru Dr. Samia Al-Amoudi and Dr. Baseem El-Deek for this learning experience.
