Abstract : This investigation was carried out to study the correlation between film thickness and shear bond strength of glass ionomer cement, resin modified glass ionomer cement and resin cement. The shear bond strength values were measured after one hour and 24 hours. The results were calculated and statistically analyzed. It was concluded that the highest bond strength values were recorded in . case of resin cement and accompanied by recording least film thickness. There is an indirect relation between film thickness and shear bond strength. It is recommended to use resin cement for cementation of all ceramic restorations.
