Document Details Document Type : Article In Journal  Document Title : Comparative Study of the Sealing Comparative Study of the Sealing   Document Language : English  Abstract : The aim of the present study was to compare the sealing ability and adaptation of four retrofilling materials and five retrofillig techniques. Amalgam with and without varnish, composite, Cavit-W, and heat sealed gutta-percha. Electrochemical sealability study showed that, all tested retrofilling materials leaked. However, leakage varied greatly between different materials tested. Amalgam without varnish gave the highest leakage score while heat sealed gutta-percha followed by Cavit-W gave the smallest leakage score. These results correlated completely with the marginal adaptation results concerning Cavit-W, composite, and amalgam without varnish.
