Abstract : The aim of this work was to study the effect of casting and recasting using old alloys with the addition of an equal weight of new alloys on the microstructure and micro hardness of some dental casting alloys. The hardness was measured using Vicker hardness tester. The specimens were examined using Versmat 2 Metallegraph. The average grain size was determined on the photograph. It was concluded that: 1) The hardness Values of the recast specimens were higher than that of the Cast specimens. 2) The met all ographic examination give indication about the grain size and structural defect. The recast specimens showed larger grains and more porosity of different sizes.
