Abstract : The present study was conducted to compare the stability of BSSRO using different numbers of screws in mandibular setback. The study involved "24" patient equally divided into three groups. "8" patients in each group. In group I the BSSRO was stabilized using "2" screws while in groups 11 and III The BSSRO was stabilized using "3" and "4" screws respectively. At one year postoperatively the results indicated that "3" and "4" screw fixation yielded more stable results than "2" screw fixation. While. there was no significant difference between "3" and "4" screws. It could be concluded from this study that triangular "3" screw fixation seemed to be optimal for stabilization of BSSRO mandibular setback.
